Mexico Ends Winless Streak Against USA with 2-0 Win
Mexico finally won against the USA after not winning for
seven matches. They played a friendly soccer game on October 15, 2024, in
Guadalajara, Mexico.
Raúl Jiménez scored the first goal for Mexico in the 22nd
minute. He kicked the ball over the USA’s defensive wall and into the goal.
Later, in the 49th minute, Jiménez helped César Huerta score the second goal.
Huerta dodged a USA defender and shot the ball into the net.
This win was very important for Mexico because they had not
beaten the USA since 2019. The USA team was missing some of their regular
players, like Christian Pulisic. The new USA coach, Mauricio Pochettino,
experienced his first loss with the team.
The game was also special because it was the last match for
Andrés Guardado, a famous Mexican player. He played his final game in his
hometown, Guadalajara, and received a big cheer from the fans.
Mexico’s win made their fans very happy and ended a long wait
for a victory against their rivals
